Work your core alongside other Houstonians at this complimentary yoga class! On Tuesday, August 13th, Discovery Green welcomes you to attend an evening of Core Yoga. Don’t miss it!
Core power yoga is one of the multi-disciplinary and more vigorous types of yoga that strengthens and empowers the body, mind, and spirit. The practice of core power yoga aims to teach students to communicate with their bodies and access their spiritual core, so they can achieve inner power.
This inner power then builds the foundation to tap into the mental power to focus, and physical power to keep up with the strenuous yoga routine. Guests can strengthen their bodies, relax their mind and find their center with this dynamic flow yoga sequence.
Opened in 2008, Discovery Green is a beautiful, vibrant park in the heart of Downtown Houston. The park was envisioned by several committed Houston philanthropists, who saw the space as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create an urban park that would redefine the landscape of downtown. In less than four years, the site that became Discovery Green was transformed from an undeveloped, concrete eyesore into a beautiful and vibrant destination adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Discovery Green exemplifies a successful public-private partnership between the City of Houston, the Houston First Corporation and Discovery Green Conservancy, the nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that operates and maintains the park. The Conservancy produces hundreds of free events each year and receives no direct city funding.
No preregistration for core-focused yoga is required, but participants must sign a waiver upon arrival. Bring a towel and water, as well as a mat for all yoga classes. Yoga mats can be purchased in the Discovery Green office from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
It’s hard to leave home sometimes – trust us, we know. But The Augusta Apartments in Houston, Texas believes it is important to not only stay active in your community but to also express curiosity about new subjects. This event is the perfect chance to spread your roots and learn new things!
